Mark's Bio:
Mark Schneider is a freelance director and acting coach based in New York City. On Broadway, Schneider is credited for his work on thirteen productions, a wide array of new works, classics and musicals. He was Associate Director to Matthew Warchus on two Tony award-winning Best Revivals; comedies, The Norman Conquests andBoeing-Boeing. He worked for five years with Doug Hughes, on Broadway and elsewhere, including as his right hand on the Tony and Pulitzer prize-winning Doubt by John Patrick Shanley.
His work with young actors includesserving as the Associate Director the recent revival of Annie The Musical, directed by James Lapine. He was also the Resident Director of Billy Elliot: The Musicalon Broadway, directed by Stephen Daldry, and the Associate Director of Jason Robert Brown's teen musical,13, featuring Ariana Grande in her Broadway debut.
Schneider is a private coach to many top child actors working in New York City and Los Angeles today. In 2013, Schneider completed work on the new Jay-Z/Will Smith film production of Annie, a modern remake of the beloved musical, coaching Oscar-nominee Quvenzhane Wallis in the title role. Wallis turn as the plucky New York orphan earned her a Golden Globe Award Nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. Schneider holds regular acting classes in New York and has taught acting workshops for such organizations as the Broadway Teaching Group and the National Student Leadership Conference.
Schneider is a former Drama League Directing Fellow, member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross.
