John Maynard Keynes was a British Economist, the author of "The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money, and the founder of what is now know as Keynesian Economics. His ideas were new ideas for his time in the 1930's. Thus the reason for his quote about ideas.

This is one quote that rings true to me. I've worked in Information Technology for a long time. You will find this quote very relevant when you are working with companies on getting new technology or processes in place.

Have you ever tried to change something because it's a good idea and will save someone time and money and you hear people say:

"We've always done it that way, and it's worked fine."

Change is difficult.

It is easy to come up with an idea. And, it can be a very good idea. It can be an Awesome Idea!

The difficulty lies not so much in developing ideas -

And, we should always be thinking of new ideas, new things, have big dreams.

But, escaping from the old ideas, the old way can be a challenge.

Henry Ford, when asked if he listened to his prospective before creating the mass production of automobiles, said,

"If I'd asked, people would have told me they needed a faster horse."

I believe it is so true. That's why today, many startups and current companies are creating the MVP, the Minimally Viable Product.  They create something that works, that they can show people. They create something that people can use and try out, then get feedback on how to improve it. They don't necessarily get feedback initially, other than confirming the need for such the new product.

So, don't give up! Your idea is probably awesome! It may just be difficult to escape from the old ideas in peoples minds.
