If you set your goals ridiculously high and it fails, you will have failed above everyone elses success.
~~ James Cameron

You probably know James Cameron. He is the director of great movies like Titanic and Avatar. Both of those movies were off the hook! They were elaborate, they were expensive, they were exciting, they made Millions!

For his movie Avatar, at least 5 inventions had to be thought up, created and implemented before it was ready to go into production. He wrote the movie years before it was released. Technology had to be invented before he could create the movies in his dream.

James Cameron always strives to be the best, The King of the World, as he told The Huffington Post after winning his many Oscars for the movie Titanic.  The elaborate sets, and technology for Titanic are legendary as well.

But, the point of his quote is that even if those two movies had failed, which they didn't, then he would have still failed way above everyone elses successes.

If you have Goals and Dreams, Make them Ridiculously HUGE to start with. Wouldn't it be better to fail magnificently that to fail with mediocrity?

Now, what if the goal is not realistic, you say. Many would have thought James Cameron's goal to create Avatar was unrealistic.  Hey, most of the technology didn't exist. BUT, that doesn't mean his goal was not realistic. If his goals was to create Avatar in 1999, then it probably would have been unrealistic.

His goal was to create a great movie, Avatar. It didn't have to be done then. His dream was still alive. He did the actions it took to move the goal forward until the tools he needed to achieve his goal was created, or he helped to create it.  That's the big key. He didn't just give up because the technology wasn't there. He helped to create the technology he needed to Get the Goals He Set.

If you dream big, set Ridiculously Huge Goals it's OK. Your goals should be out of your comfort zone.  If what you need to achieve your goals isn't available. Make it available. Create it yourself.  Do what it takes.
Go Out and Dream Big Dreams and Do Big Things to Get the Goals You Set!
