When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.    –Helen Keller

It's interesting to listen to this quote from Helen Keller. If you are too young to have heard of Helen Keller, she was blind and deaf. Yet, she speaks very clearly in this quote and you can hear the conviction in her voice.

We've all heard the saying, "When one door closes another will open." This tells us that there are chances for plenty of opportunities. If one comes by and we don't grasp it, another will come around. Helen Keller talks of them as doors of happiness. When one door closes, another opens...but the sad part she shares is that we often spend so much time staring at the door that just closed on us that we don't see the one that was just opened for us.

Do you spend too much time worrying about what you could have done instead of what you can do? When I was growing up, my grandmother used to call that the Shoulda, Coulda Woulda's. That's when we worry too much about what we should have done, or what we could have done, or maybe what we would have done if, instead of looking for OR at the other opportunities that come our way.

Don't blind yourself from what you can do, what doors open to you just because one door closes. When a door closes, let it go. Look around as soon as possible and see what opens up for you.
