If you’ve ever heard me say “quantum metaphysics” and thought: Okay… but what does that actually mean? —this post is for you.
In today’s Quantum Carnival episode, I define the phrase from the ground up. Physics is the study of matter, motion, energy, and forces. Metaphysics is the philosophical inquiry into what’s behind those rules—first causes, fundamental reality, and what establishes the “laws” we take for granted. When we add quantum to the mix, we’re pointing to a key idea from quantum physics: the outcome you observe can depend on the act of observation (in plain English: your expectation creates your experience of reality).
We walk through the double-slit experiment and the observer effect with a simple metaphor: physical reality is less like a fixed, 3D map that you travel through, and more like an image being generated frame-by-frame. Then we touch quantum entanglement (instantaneously correlated changes across distance) as a reminder that assumptions about distance, time, and limitation may be more flexible than they look.
This is a valuable mindset lens: if perception and expectation shape experience, then training your attention, beliefs, and self-concept create more clarity, confidence, and momentum in daily life.

Question for you: What’s one “law” you’ve been living by that you’re ready to re-examine?
