With things getting more hectic, and mental health becoming a much more common topic for discussion, we all owe it to ourselves to have a mental workout regimen as much as a physical improvement plan. Reading is a lost art, and there are some great lessons to be learned in the centuries of literature at our finger tips. Adding new skills like languages, and meditation are also ways to strengthen the mind. Lastly, pushing ourselves into discomfort is an excellent way to strengthen the mind. Whether that be cold showers, public speaking or anything else that makes as weak at the knees.
Weighing in at 250 lbs isn't exactly where we wanted to be at the end of 2021. We know what mistakes I made to be here, and now we will talk about the exact steps needed to fix this. Life can be crazy, but there is no reason to run from struggle. Let's work on making ourselves the best possible version of ourselves that we can. Quest for your best and finale version, Quest for Omega.
Hopefully 2022 is going to be the point where I hit my stride. Enrolled in online courses, going to lose that weight, and trying to find out who I am now that I am an empty nester. It all starts with the first steps.
As a man of Mexican heritage, can I be considered fully Mexican if I don't speak the language. For some this is an absurd notion, and for others, it's all or nothing. I discuss how this unrealized separation from my internal identity and my lived identity has caused stress or negativity in my life. I also express methods and tools on identifying these stressors in life, and working toward eliminating them. No matter the cause or severity of this cognitive dissonance, we must identify them and Quest to remove them from our lives, so they are not given the time and fuel to grow into genuine problems in our daily lives.
I will bring my weight under control, and have a very specific goal in mind. It has been over 20 years since I weighed below 200 lbs, and I am currently 238, together we will journey to getting my weight to the target of sub-200. I want to do this for my health, for improved fitness, and of course aesthetics. I outline my goals and the methods I will use to reach them. I future Fitness Friday podcast I will cover, equipment, apps, and interview experts in the field to gain an advantage, and crush this goal. Hopefully along the way I can educate, inspire, and push others to succeed if weight loss is a common goal.
In the beginning we need to define what this Podcast is going to be. I outline the roadmap to where I think this will go, and how I hope to get there. I outline what a Quest is, as defined within this podcast, and who should want to start a Quest. If the Quest goes as planned I will have the resources to completely reprogram my life, and provide you the tools necessary to do the same.
