We have a special guest today. James Kennison of That Story Show, the clean comedy podcast where he reads your funny life stories. Find all the work he has done in the world of podcasting at: NLCast.com
We get off to a rough start with interrupting phone calls, and a Skype malfunction. This was a long recording session, so portions of our interview with James will come in a later installment.
We substitute our Meet the Hosts segment for a quiz. It still counts as meeting the hosts, since through the questions that Nathan put together, you get to know the hosts a little better.
Bible Truth or Myth. James and Keith answer the questions then we discuss each question in ore detail to examine the truth, and the truth that counter the myths.
* Is there any guarantees that children will never leave the faith they were raised in?
* Is the King James the only version we need to be reading? (This could be a topic we could return to to do an entire show about). We spend a little time talking about versions that leave verses out, the reading level of the scriptures, preservation of the texts that translations are derived from, to include a few subtopics we talk about.
* Can we be sure of eternal salvation? Or is it a matter of, “Once saved always saved”? We talk a little about the topic of unforgivable sin. How does that work? James summarizes the concept pretty well.
Is the unforgivable sin of rejecting the holy spirit only for the unbeliever, or can a believer somehow reject the holy spirits gift of faith? Definitely a topic deeper than we have time to give it here.
* Will God give you anything you ask for, just because you ask for it?
* Will following the convictions of your heart get you into heaven?
Our hangout with James ran long, but listen to some of his testimony, and get an introduction to who he is.
Be sure to stay tuned for the rest of our day with James. He has plenty to say on the topic of christians acting bad, and the fake things that can mislead people from the real value they imitate. He’s also a person who is recovering from depression. It’s an ongoing problem, but he’ll share a little on how he has been dealing with it.
