Question 13: What is the Second Sin for which there is no Atonement?

In Matthews gospel (chapter 12), Jesus speaks of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, the sin of which can never be forgiven. This is elaborated on by the writer to the Hebrews (chapter 6). We recognise this as the continual resistance of the individual to heed the conviction of the Holy Spirit to embrace God's gift of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
