I sit down with Dan Riordan, a business executive and expert with extensive experience building start-up organizations, and author of the book "Signals" for my latest podcast episode. Dan has a background in electronic engineering and uses the laws of thermodynamics to share critical lessons on how to create maximal positive potential and energy versus entropy or disorder in the life and business decisions we make. During our discussion, he focuses lots of attention on learning how to ask better and more strategic questions, and how to question assumptions and subjective beliefs, values, and illusions (what he calls BVIs). We discuss some of Dan's specific tips on hiring and interviewing employees and their impact on successful growth of a company, employee retention and engagement. The episode reveals many real world stories and business cases of identifying signals to differentiate them from noise, and the failures and accomplishments throughout Dan's personal transformation in business and in life. Dan is currently embarking on his latest mission in the health-focused food business with a new website called "www.liveandbreathesolutions.com", and he ultimately calls on the listeners to learn how to better manage their energy, increase their self-love and appreciation, questioning skills, and find their purpose in life.
