Acting in accordance with his God-given mission to go before Messiah Jesus and proclaim the coming of the Lord, John the Baptist is met with an interrogation from religious leaders.  Their line of questioning raises many interesting points regarding who the Jews were expecting to come and deliver Israel.  John's answers ultimately point them to the desire that someone will fulfill their expectation and surely enough there is someone coming who will accomplish everything God promised his people.
