Sermon for the Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost
Job searches for the reason for his suffering. He asks God, and God answers him, but the answer he gives to Job is confounding to Job. God asks Job if he understands how the world was created. Reverend Shelley preaches on the way that God ties the mystery of Job’s suffering to all the greater mysteries of the world.
Readings appointed for Pentecost 22 are:
• Job 38: 1-7; 34-41;
• Psalm 104
• Hebrews 5: 1-10
• Mark 10: 35-45
