As ETH gas prices surged over the past few months, many people looked to alternative chains and Layer 2 solutions as a way of maintaining the functionality of Ethereum while being able to operate with lower gas fees. One of the "winning" chains of the ETH gas crisis was the Polygon/Matic Network which offers a host of DeFi features and many ETH-like features but with considerably lower gas costs and quicker transaction times.
