Surah Az-Zumar (الزمر) is the 39th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “The Troops” and it consists of 75 verses.
This Surah discusses Islam as the true religion. It tells believers to serve Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ) and avoid Shirk. The Believers are told not to despair and lose faith. It may be difficult to practice their religion based on the society, but they can migrate from that land. The non-believers are told they can do whatever they wish. There is no compulsion to Islam, but they must understand the consequences. The central theme of this Surah is about true devotion to Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ) and compares the fate of the believer to the disbelievers.
