A New Hope R2-D2 gets lost in the desert with 3PO and somehow stays alive. 

Empire Strikes Back he Drowns in the mud on Degobah but then survives. 

In Return of The Jedi, he Gets shot by a blaster and lives.   

In The Force Awakens R2 survives Kylo Ren's destruction of Luke Skywalkers Jedi School.  

In the Last Jedi R2 almost dies of depression. But BB-8 cheers him up.

And in the Rise of Skywalker R2 is Poe Dameron's Co-Pilot droid.
