RA Round Table: Preceptorship and Value

Listen Later

On this unique episode we got to share the open mic with 11 Radiologist Assistants (including hosts Marcelene Forbus and Reece Burgoon). Our featured guests for this episode include fellow RA's: Jon Marx, Sean Wiley, Danielle Bradbury, Wesley Shay, Anthony Wray, Susan Wertz, Joe Ferreri, Chris Young, and David Hardwick.

The panel of RA's open up to offer advice to help you standout in your department, approaching the radiologist and administrators for educational advancement, understanding procedures, asking questions, and being direct with your goals. Towards the end we each share some of the ways in which our RA roles have greatly impacted each of our practices. The value the RA profession brings to our Radiologist-led teams is unique and offers the support needed in our departments.

·      (41:23): How state laws, credentialing, and billing concerns can play a role in the foundation of clinical preceptorship

·      (44:19):   RA profession most impacted their departments.   Describing access to care, presence in the community, improved efficiency, continuity of care, time saved, training with residents, and the value we provide may not be a tangible fee but the value more than pays for itself.

We enjoyed getting to be a part of this discussion and we are hopeful that it helped anyone looking for preceptorship to have a better insight of how to start the planning phase of entering a program. If you ever need help or advise, we are a great group of people always willing to share support and helping you achieve you goals.
