Wednesday, June 11, 6pm EDT: Abuse of all sorts is rampant in numerous communities across our country & world. Emotional, verbal, physical & sexual abuse all go largely unreported because of the stigma, embarrassment & humiliation, as well as often the retribution often following reporting. In short, these are among the most difficult and serious issues we humans face in our society, with so little practical way to address, rectify, prosecute and heal these situations.
To address these very delicate issues, Mitchell's guest tonight is the venerable Rabbi Simcha Weinberg. Rabbi Weinberg has been helping to rescue people, mainly children, from contexts in which these kinds of abuse are very under cover yet rampant.
Rabbi Weinberg was the Senior Rabbi at Lincoln Square Synagogue, New York from from 1991-96,
Simcha (which, in Hebrew, means "joy"), created “Religion on the Job” (annual program focusing on the Jewish perspective of the major professions), was the Vice President of Council of Orthodox Jewish Organizations of the West Side and has an extraordinary number of credits to his name. He is a highly respected Rabbi across the U.S.
His credentials are too many to list. Rabbi Weinberg has done and continues to influence numerous communities with his work, saving the lives of hundreds and impacting thousands through his extraordinary rescue, teaching, organization and healing activity.
Mitchell is very pleased to have Rabbi Weinberg on A Better World this evening to open up and discuss these tender topics. As a therapist himself for decades working with clients through very difficult issues at times, Mitchell especially welcomes the opportunity to open up and address these issues.
