The 2013 Race to Equity report was a seminal moment in the history of the Madison area, as it made clear that racial disparities here – our liberal bastion of tolerance – were worse than anywhere else in the nation. A new report is out today, and while it isn’t exactly a 10-year update on the first report, the bottom line is that disparities haven’t gotten much better. One of the new report’s lead authors, Kids Forward Senior Racial Equity Policy Analyst Carte'cia Lawrence, joins us today to dig into the report, what it says, what it doesn’t say, and where we go from here.
