I believe that it is possible to solve the educational inequality in America through data science. As a former educator and Teach for America corps member, I have developed a passion for expanding access to higher education for students from rural and low income backgrounds. There’s a line from Hamilton - “I’ve seen injustice in the world and I’ve corrected it.” I’ve seen the injustice, and it keeps me up at night. I hope that 40+ years from now, I can say, “I’ve seen injustice in the world, and I [was a part of a team/movement that] corrected it [a little bit].” I want to use data science to help correct the injustices I've seen in public education in America.
