In this episode, we’ll be exploring racism through a European lens. We’ll be exploring themes of implicit and explicit encounters, discussing a little history that isn’t all that historical, So buckle up! Grab a coffee or a cuppa and let get into it!
Joining me as a guest for this episode is someone I hold near and dear, who I’ve known since we were in diapers. My cousin and brother Duane Adamoli is a name I highly encourage you to keep a note of. He’s an extraordinary Nuevo filmmaker who joins us today to talk about his mixed-race upbringing.
Currently residing in London, Duane was born in Zimbabwe to a Zimbabwean mother and Italian father.
Amongst his most successful works is an award-winning documentary revolving around the earthquake of L’Aquila, Italy. His films aim to bring to light the confusion of his generation. His latest work “Another piece of Shit” which has been nominated in various festivals follows the tired psyche of an artist, under pressures bigger than he can handle.
