The Lord's Supper is a powerful meal instituted by the Lord Jesus on the night before He was crucificed, but it is still surrounded by a great deal of mystery and misunderstanding. A bit of mystery is good but the misunderstanding causes us to miss out on the events Jesus wanted us to commemorate and celebrate. WE commemorate His death by eating the bread and drinking the fruit of the vine, which represent His broken body and shed blood. But, we also celebrate the reality of His imminent return.
