Often exploring different genres like baile funk, uwuaracha, trap, bass, breaks, and jersey club, smashley loves finding the intersections between them. As a white DJ, smashley is looking for ways to contextualise the music they play, which often originates in non-white cultures. Giving context to music is essential, not only to credit its origins but to resist appropriation and centre the cultures and communities that created it.
