The history of radio is an amazing journey of incredible technology that eventually led to the computers of today. It all began with crystals of galena and then tubes... vacuum tubes... or "valves" as they were called in Europe. This is a 6 min article direct from a radio hobby magazine from the late 1920's and it is on DXing... what many people did with their radios before there was much programming to listen to. Amateur Radio operators still do it... Call sign here is KC1XG, though I must admit I have not been on the air for 12 years now. This and other segments related to the history of radio are found in the RADIO HISTORY playlist. Thanks for listening.
