Laser 58 took Europe by storm when it launched from the MV Communicator on 24th May 1984.With an all hit fast paced format Presented by a slick team of American DJs. No dissimilar to Swinging Radio England, 20 years earlier.
With the tag line, Laser 558, where you're never more than a minute away from music., Laser soon built up a massive audience.
On this episode, we speak to some of the people who brought us Laser 558 and play some clips of this exciting station.

We chat with Paul Rusling and the trails and tribulations of getting the ship fitted out and get it to the North Sea. The failed Balloon ariels and hear from Johnny Lewis about, his visit to the radio ship to help get some sort of signal out of it.
Plus so great audio of the first days on air and some great radio, as test transmissions.
