Tonight we conclude our monthly look back at The West Wing by reviewing Season 7.

The seventh and final season of the American political drama television series The West Wing aired in the United States on NBC from September 25, 2005, to May 14, 2006, and consisted of 22 episodes. The series changed time slots from Wednesdays at 9:00 pm to Sundays at 8:00 pm, and the series struggled in its new time slot against ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and CBS's Cold Case.

The seventh and final season principally follows Santos and Vinick on the campaign trail, while also addressing the aftermath of the space shuttle leak investigation. The Bartlet administration's last year in office is featured, but not prominently. Toby admits to leaking the story about a military spacecraft and President Bartlet is forced to fire him. Later, Toby refuses to name his recently deceased brother as the source of the classified information, despite being urged to by his ex-wife, his lawyer and a federal prosecutor, as he feels it would be wrong to dishonor his brother's memory. C.J.'s tenure as Chief of Staff becomes more stressful as she deals with the war between Russia and China over Kazakhstan. The presidential race tightens up when Vinick's lead is dampened by an accident at a nuclear plant he had championed. Leo suffers a heart attack and dies on the night of the election, reflecting the death of actor John Spencer. Santos wins the election, and the last few episodes show the final days of the Bartlet administration and Santos' transition. In the series finale, Santos is sworn in as president.

We present our review of Stranger Things (Season 1)!

The first season of the American science fiction, horror drama television series Stranger Things premiered worldwide on the streaming service Netflix on July 15, 2016.[1] The series was created by the Duffer Brothers, who also serve as executive producers along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.

This season stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine, with Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, and Shannon Purser in recurring roles. The first season of Stranger Things was widely praised, in particular for its originality, homages to the 1980s, characterization, tone, visuals, and acting (particularly those of Ryder, Harbour, Wolfhard, Brown and Modine).

We present our review of Weapons (2025)!

Weapons is a 2025 American mystery horror film written, co-composed, co-produced and directed by Zach Cregger. The film stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan. Its plot follows the seemingly inexplicable case of seventeen children from the same classroom who mysteriously run away on the same night at the same time, having been apparently abducted by an unseen force.

Weapons was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on August 8, 2025. The film received critical acclaim and has grossed $101 million worldwide.

War of the Worlds is a 2025 American screenlife science fiction thriller film based on H. G. Wells's 1898 novel The War of the Worlds. The film was directed by Rich Lee with a screenplay by Kenneth A. Golde and Marc Hyman from a story by Golde. It stars Ice Cube, Eva Longoria, Clark Gregg, Andrea Savage, Henry Hunter Hall, Iman Benson, Devon Bostick, and Michael O'Neill.

War of the Worlds was released by Universal Pictures on Amazon Prime Video on July 30, 2025. The film received negative reviews from critics.

We present our review of the 28 Days Later Film Series!

The 28 Days Later series consists of post-apocalyptic horror films, based on a concept conceived by Alex Garland. The series includes three released films, with two sequels in various stages of development. The franchise depicts the outbreak of the Rage Virus, a contagious disease that induces homicidal rage in those infected. Following the virus's accidental release from a laboratory in the United Kingdom, the resulting epidemic causes widespread societal collapse. The films focus on the impact of the outbreak, and the efforts of survivors to endure both the infected and the consequences of a rapidly disintegrating society.

The first film, 28 Days Later, was well received by critics, and was a box office success. It has been called a horror classic and has a cult following. It has also been credited with redefining, as well as influencing, and expanding the popularity of the zombie horror genre. The 2007 sequel, 28 Weeks Later, was a financial success but had an average critical reception, with a 73% from critics and a much lower 66% audience rating, according to review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

The series is set to continue with a trilogy of sequels in various stages of development, all distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing through its Columbia Pictures label. The first sequel, 28 Years Later, was released in 2025, with a follow-up, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, slated for release on 16 January 2026. A third film was announced.

We present our review of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story!

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is the second season of the American biographical crime drama anthology television series Monster, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan for Netflix. The season centers on the 1989 parricides of José (Javier Bardem) and Kitty Menendez (Chloë Sevigny), who were killed by their sons, Lyle (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Erik (Cooper Koch). It uses the Rashomon effect as a narrative device by presenting key events through multiple perspectives and unreliable narrators, leaving the "truth" open to interpretation.

It is the second season in the Monster anthology series, following Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Having initially ordered the program in 2020 as a limited series, Netflix announced in 2022 that it had been renewed as an anthology series, with two further editions based on the lives of "other monstrous figures". The second season, which focuses on the Menendez brothers, was announced to be in development on May 1, 2023.

We present our review of Together (2025)!

Together is a 2025 supernatural body horror film written and directed by Michael Shanks, in his directorial debut. The film stars real-life married actors Dave Franco and Alison Brie as a couple who move to the countryside and find themselves encountering a mysterious force that horrifically causes changes in their bodies.

Together premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2025 and was released in the United States by Neon on July 30, 2025, and in Australia by Kismet Movies on July 31. It received positive reviews from critics and has grossed $12.2 million against a $17 million budget.

We present our review of The Naked Gun 2025!

The Naked Gun is a 2025 American crime action comedy film directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Schaffer, Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. The fourth film in The Naked Gun franchise, it stars Liam Neeson in the main role, with Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, and Danny Huston starring in supporting roles. It follows the son of Lt. Frank Drebin who must succeed in his father's footsteps to prevent the closure of Police Squad.

A fourth The Naked Gun film was originally announced in 2009, as a direct-to-TV sequel starring Leslie Nielsen. However, the film languished several years of development, including being redeveloped as a reboot starring Ed Helms in 2013. It was later officially announced in January 2021 that Seth MacFarlane had been hired to develop the project, and he expressed interest in casting Neeson in the main role. Although MacFarlane was hired to direct, Schaffer replaced him after the film was greenlit in October 2022, and Neeson was officially cast in the main role. Anderson was cast in April 2024, and further casting took place the following month. Filming began in Atlanta that month and wrapped in June.

The Naked Gun premiered at the SVA Theater in Manhattan on July 28, 2025, and was released in the United States and United Kingdom by Paramount Pictures on August 1, 2025. The film received positive reviews from critics and has grossed $28.3 million worldwide against a $42 million budget.

The Naked Gun, also known as Police Squad!, is a media franchise consisting of several American crime spoof-comedies, created by the comedy filmmaking trio Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker. The installments include one television series, four theatrical films, and a video game. The plot centers on a police detective who has a lot of heart, despite having many innocent but comical mishaps. Leslie Nielsen stars in the television series and the first three films as the protagonist Detective Sergeant Frank Drebin; a fourth film starring Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr. is scheduled for release in 2025. The franchise was met with a mixed-to-positive critical reception, and the films were a financial box office success.
