Rae Lamar Wiggins was born January 20, 1974. A first-round draft pick in the 1997 NFL Draft, taken by the Carolina Panthers with the 27th overall selection. He signed a four-year, $3.7 million deal that included a $1.3 million signing bonus. The man known as Rae Carruth was on top of the world, two years later it would come crashing down.
