In this climactic chapter, Maeve and Sev learn the truth of what happened to their families. The truth creates a rage in Sev and he attacks the Vazra in the middle of their ritual. As the three of them engage in a fight, the black robed Vazra expertly defends himself, seemingly enjoying the battle. Maeve struggles to find a way to strike him, as he appears to be a spirit with no visible armor. Meanwhile, the four other Vazra in the room stand by and watch.
