I'm 51...born in 1970. I was 9 when the original Muppet Movie came out in theaters. The opening scene will always instantly bring me to tears. It is beautiful and simple with words that any 9 year old can understand. It makes me think of how innocent I was and how true it is that ignorance is bliss. It also makes me cry because humanity is so very far away from any kind of connection, rainbow or otherwise. 

I was appalled to discover that the official soundtrack version of the song is very different, and in my view terrible compared to the movie version. To please my inner child and set things straight, I have published this rip of the movie version. No extra drums or other BS.. just the original as I heard it in the theater in 1979. I did boost EQ a bit to bring out some of the instruments in this recording. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. If you really want to experience it right, just go watch the movie.
