Good morning, weather watchers! This is your friendly neighborhood meteorologist coming to you with the latest forecast for the Raleigh area.

Today's looking like a cloudy affair with a slight chance of rain after 4 in the afternoon. Temperatures will hover around 46 degrees Fahrenheit, with a gentle northeast wind blowing at 6 to 9 miles per hour. Pack a light jacket and maybe a small umbrella - just in case!

Tonight, we're keeping things interesting with a continued chance of rain. Expect cloudy skies and temperatures dipping down to around 39 degrees Fahrenheit. That northeast wind will be playing it cool, eventually becoming calm as the evening progresses.

Thursday is where things get exciting! We've got a potential for showers and even some thunderstorms after 1 in the afternoon. The temperature will climb dramatically to near 70 degrees Fahrenheit, with southwest winds picking up to 8 to 13 miles per hour. Some gusts might reach up to 22 miles per hour, so hold onto your hats!

The weekend's looking a bit unsettled with chances of rain on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday actually looks pretty pleasant with mostly sunny skies and temperatures reaching a delightful 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Next week starts with a wet note - we're looking at increasing rain chances, especially by Monday and Tuesday.
