Good morning, weather watchers! This is your friendly neighborhood meteorologist coming to you with today's forecast for the Raleigh area.

Buckle up for a wild weather ride today! We're looking at a chilly start with a potential winter mix this morning. Expect a chance of snow and sleet before 10 am, quickly transitioning to rain. Temperatures will hover around a brisk 37 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will start calm but then pick up from the east at 5 to 8 miles per hour, with gusts that could reach up to 22 miles per hour.

Tonight, it's going to be a rainy affair. Temperatures will dip to around 35 degrees Fahrenheit, with a steady northeast wind at about 8 miles per hour. We're anticipating between a quarter and half an inch of precipitation.

Wednesday continues the wet trend with rain throughout the day. Expect temperatures to climb slightly to 41 degrees Fahrenheit, with a light northeast wind. We're looking at another quarter to half-inch of rainfall.

Thursday brings a bit of a warmup with temperatures reaching near 63 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect some morning fog and scattered showers, especially before 1 pm. The wind will shift from southwest to west throughout the day.

The weekend is looking quite active with increasing chances of rain. Saturday and Sunday both have high precipitation probabilities, with temperatures climbing to near 59 and 69 degrees Fahrenheit respectively.

A brief reprieve comes on Monday, Washington's Birthday, with sunny skies and a high near 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
