Hey weather watchers! Let's break down what Mother Nature has in store for us today.

We're looking at a crisp winter day here in North Carolina. This afternoon, expect nothing but sunshine with temperatures climbing to a cool 47 degrees Fahrenheit. Those north winds will be dancing around at 8 to 11 miles per hour, so keep that light jacket handy.

Tonight, we're cooling down fast - we're talking a chilly 24 degrees Fahrenheit. Those north winds will gentle down to just 3 to 6 miles per hour, giving us a crystal clear evening.

Sunday's forecast continues our sunny streak, but bundle up! Temperatures will only reach about 42 degrees Fahrenheit, and the wind chill could drop to a teeth-chattering 21 degrees. Those north winds will be whispering at 3 to 5 miles per hour.

Looking ahead, we've got a pretty consistent pattern of sunshine and cool temperatures. Tuesday will be our warm spot, reaching near 53 degrees Fahrenheit. Christmas Day looks partly sunny with temperatures around 52 degrees.
