Good morning, weather watchers! It's your friendly neighborhood meteorologist here with today's forecast for the Raleigh area.

Bundle up, because we're starting the day with a chilly wind chill around 28 degrees early on. But don't worry, sunshine lovers - we're looking at a mostly sunny day with temperatures climbing to a crisp 50 degrees Fahrenheit. That northeast wind will be gently dancing at 5 to 7 miles per hour, just enough to keep things interesting.

Tonight, we're in for a mild evening with partly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping to a fairly reasonable 34 degrees. That light northeast breeze will continue to whisper at 3 to 5 miles per hour.

Looking ahead to Friday, we've got a slight chance of rain after 8 in the morning. Expect partly sunny conditions with a high near 49 degrees Fahrenheit. The weekend's looking a bit more dramatic, with increasing chances of rain and temperatures gradually warming up. Saturday will see a high of 63 degrees, and by Sunday, we're looking at a wet day with temperatures reaching near 69 degrees Fahrenheit.

The New Year kicks off with some sunshine, giving us a pleasant high of 59 degrees Fahrenheit. Perfect for those resolutions and fresh starts!
