This week on Wellbeing, we talk with Ralph, a former problem gambler. Ralph was first introduced to gambling in his early childhood in the 1940s putting bets on for family members. Ralph has seen gambling change over time, even witnessing the first poker machines coming to Australia in 1956. He has been free of gambling for two decades. Ralph is a regular presenter for the Consumer Voices community education sessions at Gambling Impact Society. These sessions are aimed at educating people on the effects of gambling. In this episode, Ralph talks of his journey with his gambling problem and how it affected his relationships and quality of life. Tune in next week when we speak with another former problem gambler.
