The story begins with King Dasaratha of Kosala kingdom, who is strong, valiant and considered to be greatest rulers of all time, is devoid of son. When Sage Vishwamitra requests King Dasaratha, he has to make a decision. Two demons Mareecha and Subahu are interfering with the Yaaga rishis are performing. How will Raama face these demons is narrated in this episode. As Raama and others enter deep forest filled with wild creatures and make their way along banks of River Ganga to stop these demons, Sage Vishwamitra narrates the story of King Mahabali.
King Mahabali is one of the seven Chiranjeevi's (Immortal). As such, he was generous but proud. To teach him a lesson, Lord Vishnu takes another avataar. To know more about it, listen to this episode of The Ramayana Podcast.
