In Galatians 5, the Apostle Paul tells us that proof of the Spirit of God living in a follower of Christ is found in 'the fruit of the Spirit'. These nine qualities are the hallmarks of someone who is truly walking daily with God.

The fifth fruit of the Spirit is kindness. Go to work, watch the news, drive in rush hour and you'll find that kindness is an endangered species these days! It seems like people find more and more ways to be rude to each other every day.

As followers of Christ, we're told that when we are kind to others, even when they aren't kind to us, we have a great reward from our Father. Dr. Merritt tells us that despite the difficulty in denying our human nature, we are never more like Christ than when we are kind.
