So, it has been a very long hiatus and I’d love to get back into the podcast game. Gone are the days where random history was just me randomly blabbering into the microphone about some historical topic, WE HAVE A COHOST! Some time next week me and a friend will up the old podcast by bringing in a partner dynamic and true to its name unless a previously specified series is in the works each episode will be on a new randomly selected topic picked at the end of each episode.

I also go on a rather lengthy discussion about how bad the American education system covers these topics in relation to the eastern front and our innate America to the rescue narrative through the curriculum and how that’s sized in relation to wwi and ii.

A century after the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte Europe is about to be thrown into another continental war, “if a war is to happen it will come from some damned thing in the Balkons” Otto von Bismarck. The battle of the Marne brings trenches and stalemate.

The fighting shifts to the south general gates leads Cornwallis on a goose chase to exhaust his supplies and the continental and French forces trap him in Yorktown va securing independence at the treaty of Paris and after a rocky start finally set off with Washington as the first true American president

After Washington whipped them at Trenton and Princeton the British must find a new strategy divide and conquer which comes to a head in October 77’ on the banks of the Hudson River and gives the patriot cause renewed hope.

As the war drags into a second year George Washington and the continental army face the darkest days of the revolution in the battle for New York and that’s to some luck pull out a last minute victory at the end of the year.
