This past week, the music industry suffered a big tragedy as Michael Nesmith, famous for his time in beloved 60's band The Monkees, passed away at the age of 78.  Nesmith was more than just a tall Texan in a wool hat in the world's first boy band.  He was a damn pioneer in the music industry.  He helped his band get complete freedom to record an album where they wrote their own tunes and played their own instruments.  He was also a big name in Country Rock in the early 70s inspiring acts from The Eagles to the Flying Burrito Brothers.  AND he was one of the people responsible for the concept of MTV as he created the idea of a 'Video Album' and so many more accomplishments.  This week's SPECIAL episode will tackle all that as well as my ten favorite songs that I feel epitomizes Nesmith's career.  This list not only tackles Monkees tunes that he wrote, but also his solo career and other high-profile artists during that era.  Join me, B.C., in a very poignant episode as we pay tribute to the one of the most unappreciated songwriters in rock and country history.  RIP Mike Nesmith.
