Hi, my name is Randy Osborne. I am the District 2 Fish Biologist for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife based out of Spokane. I manage all of the fish populations within Spokane, Lincoln, and Whitman counties. Today, I’d like to share with you a little about what being a fish biologist entails. This includes explaining some of the tools of the trade, the benefits of working with natural resources, and of course, some of the complex challenges I face. I hope this sheds a little light on what my career choice allows me to do, paints a positive picture for those thinking of entering this field, and/or simply informs you of what being a fisheries biologist is all about.
