Randy Starks, NCAA All-American, Pro Bowl defensive linemen and twelve year NFL veteran is recreating himself. He is now the defensive line coach at Loughborough University in England. He has made the decision to bypass his connections that would allow him to literally walk into a prominent coaching position, and earn his way in. It wasn't long after he left football that he realized how critical it is to wake up with a purpose, which led him back to coaching. He now lives into the highest and best version of himself, taking his life's experience to pour into the student-athletes he mentors.
In this conversation we discuss:
- Taking talent for granted
- Do the thing that interests you, then figure out the money
- Your supporting cast matters
- The thing he misses the most is the locker room
- Being an athlete and a coach, are NOT the same skillset
