Rape is about the rapist's ambivalence towards his mother. He wants to be close to her, since, in reality, she wasn't close to him; but he also wants to hurt her, since, in reality, she wasn't close to him. So he takes out the resulting ambivalence towards mother by raping mother-proxies.
