On March 10th, 2022, a teenager 14-Year-Old was raped by a family relative at Furaka village in plateau state. The perpetrator is said to be 49-year-old. The issue was reported to the police and the district head of Dankankani Furaka village.  The suspect was detained at the Nassarawa Gwong police station, on that Thursday and the district head went to the police station to grant the suspect bail and asked that the issue be settled in the traditional way, where he asked the suspect to pay a fine of 10,000 Naira and 5 goats.
