The first part of this episode basically serves as an introduction to the Christmas/holidays works that will be a a part of Celebrate Poe every night until December 26. “Rare Christmas Books” deals with valuable holiday publications, and serves as a background to the works that will be read during this holiday season.  The second part of this episode deals with the unreleased “Christmas with Edgar Allan Poe” - a bit about its history and several of its selections.  George will read the linear notes to the CD because they (it is hoped) say a great deal about Poe’s complicated relationship to the religion, music, and the holidays.
