Rare Recording: Eddie Van Halen
I stumbled across a live recording from 1975. In the beginning it's David Lee Roth talking about the song they're about to go into. The song is 'House Of Pain'. A song that appeared on the album '1984'...almost a decade later but the best part is that the beginning of the song is what we now know as Eruption. We get to hear 20-year-old Eddie Van Halen working this song out live in it's rawest form and it's amazing!
As you may know, Eruption was not in the beginning of House Of Pain. Eruption actually segues into "You Really Got Me" on the album 'Van Halen' which came out 2 years after this early recording.
This was recorded at a place called 'Gazzari's' located in West Hollywood - 10/31/1975.
