A slightly late Rathole Radio this time. Please accept my apologies for that. I have a cold at the minute and can’t seem to sing or talk as normal. I missed the live show on Sunday due to this but I couldn’t leave you hanging another 2 weeks. So here’s some excellent tunes I played in a recorded show. It’s mostly pretty relaxed music this time so put your feet up and enjoy.

    • 09:07 – Peet Cal – NJ Giants – License Unknown – A New Jersey rapper who contacted me recently via email. I really like the sound of his voice and his flow. Check him out at http://askuniversity.com
      • 14:24 – Thursday Group – Lynch’s Law – License Unknown – Emailed to me by listener Bill Zingler. He calls it progressive Jazz but I thought it had more of a Spanish guitar feel. He found it on Magnatune and says members are allowed to use these tracks on podcasts. Get over there and buy a copy if you like it
      • 18:26 – Fit & The Conniptions – Broken – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – Wayne came and played for us at OggCamp and he’s a top bloke. I wanted to remind you all of his brilliance.

        • 25:25 – CiderbeardJoe – I Am Joe’s Wasted Life – License Unknown – I met Joe Ressington at OggCamp and he played a couple of songs for us on my guitar. I love his voice and the production on these tracks is great. There will be more, oh yes!
        • 28:52 – Pikachunes Vs. Issey & Daniel – Change Now – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – Another track from the Other Side Of The World project. A bit more electro this one. Great tune.
          • 34:48 – Gardner Chamber Orchestra – Air On The G String (Paula Robinson director & flute) – License Unknown – Seminal work by Johann Sebastian Bach. Another piece from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum collection. I’ve played some other things in the past. An incredible resource for high quality freely licensed classical music. Their database is massive.
            • 47:22 – MC Frontalot – Critical Hit – All Rights Reserved – A former guest on the show Frontalot does it again. His new album Solved will be out on August 23rd and this single is a preview. Order the album from his website now

                • 10:50 – Regra 4 – Samba Groove, a volta do homem pro mato – CC BY-SA Licensed – One I found randomly while surfing Jamendo.
                  • 15:41 – Partition 36 – The Optic Nerve – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – I played a track called “I Love Penguins” by this artist some time ago and this is a great follow up. Lovely slice of industrial sounding electro. Thanks to GamerChick02 for the tip.
                  • 21:38 – Derelict Earth – The Darkest Serenity – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – A French metal band (from Grenoble), you don’t see many of those. They’ve obviously been listening to some early Metallica I think, and that’s no bad thing.
                    • 30:22 – Chamber Music Society Of Lincoln Center – Pachelbel’s Canon In D – License Unknown – Kindly sent to me by Don_S who asked why I don’t play much classical music. As he guessed it’s often the length of the pieces and it’s tough to fit them in. I’m a fan though. (Lincoln Center blurb)
                    • 36:46 – Teddy Goldstein & The Goldsteins – New York City – License Unknown – Heard this on AMPed 280 and it was submitted by Peter Clitheroe of Suffolk & Cool. This reminded me of The Eagles in the vocal style and it’s a nice tune. I bought it off CD Baby.
                      • 43:14 – LIVE TUNE – Medicine Man by Dan Lynch – A tune I wrote some years ago and I have a feeling I might have played it live on the show before. I only realised after I’d done it. Well never mind, people seemed to enjoy it anyway. I’m hoping to soon record an album of tunes like this that have gotten away over the years.
                        • 48:49 – ‘Til Dusk – One By One – License Unknown – Emailed to me by Chris from the band. They’re based in Southampton in the UK. This track is taken from their debut album Cold Lust which is released May 16th and you can find out more at www.tildusk.co.uk

                          • 57:59 – Dual Core – Magnificent Seven (feat Nerdcore) – All Rights Reserved- A big thanks to Mark Horsley for emailing this track to me. I’ve heard Dual Core a few times but not this track. It’s from the 2009 album Next Level which you can get on Bandcamp and other places and it features almost everyone in Nerdcore it seems. Beefy, MC Frontalot and more.
