Listen Later

Once again, for the final time before I switched recording setups--half the audio is missing. Use your imaginations to supply the other half of this epic battle with Vona the butcher of Magan as another boss fight gets butchered in recording, while I tear out my fucking hair.

Tristan writes a strongly worded letter to youtube, Tristan bangs his head against the table, and Tristan laments the fact that this just. keeps. happening.

All these precious memories lost, like tears in the rain.

here are my notes from that session:

Vona’s Hunger

If the PCs fight Vona, they’ve got a rough time ahead. Vona has the Mobile feat. Meaning she won’t proc oppo from moving if she attacked you this turn.

Half way through the fight: she removes her outer heavier armor to reveal a lighter gambeson underneath. CLANG. BONG. CLANG.

The armor is extra heavy, like the weights goku trained with. This signifies her removing her power limiters. After this she moves so fast she appears to teleport, attacking any enemies at will all across the battlefield.

She also has a third phase. Where she breaks her blood fast with a blood vial to go ultra instinct BEAST MODE.

Each phase uses the vampire statblock, with resistance to all damage; resetting to full health as each phase begins.

Her attacks crit on a 19 or 20. If she crits, you must make a dc 15 con save or be slain instantly.

Marvin is there. Use vampire statblock with clerical healing spells.

Top of each round, make a ship check to avoid being boarded by more vamps or taking cannonfire.

Loot drops: if she's losing and marvin is still around, he’ll try and retreat with her. If not, she drops the Heartseeker rapier.

Engaging her ship, she will use her vampiric flight to board the mean streak along with some bloodsucking backup. From there you’ll have to battle on two fronts: ship cannons and armed melee combat.
