In these ‘Raw bite’ episodes of my podcast, I’ll be selecting my favorite moments from previous episodes of Real & Raw.
When it comes to parental divorce, it often leads to low trust and it makes dating and romance more difficult for children as they reach adulthood. They tend to have less positive attitudes towards marriage and more positive attitudes towards divorce.
In this Real & Raw conversation, Rachel and I touched upon this as she shared her experience and her raw story about having these kind of doubts about relationships.
We often feel like everything is our responsibility and we're the only ones who need to do the work. When in reality, we don't have the capability to carry it all on our backs. When we expect something to fail, we're subconsciously expecting it to be our sole responsibility to make things work. And what happens then is most of us get disappointed when those expectations are not met.
"It has been a huge thing for me to get to a place where I kind of feel like some relationship last and some don't. We have certain control over it. We also have no control over it. It's letting go of the fact that uncertainty is uncomfortable and to be a bit more present in relationships." - says Rachel
