The bodies were found hidden in a grease pit, and Cook, known for his criminal history, was arrested after attempting to flee. Despite maintaining his innocence and a lack of clear motive, Cook was convicted twice and eventually hanged in 1960. To this day, some believe the wrong man was executed, and questions about the case linger in the minds of many.
