The Rays took over first place in the American League East with a 7-0 win over the Pirates and a Yankees loss to the Diamondbacks.

Tampa Bay (3-1) had another good outing from their starting pitching and the lone loss was a one run game. Pittsburgh (1-5) probably wants out of Florida since their spring training home is in Bradenton and they’ve started the year losing series to the Marlins and now, the Rays.

The final game of the set in Tampa will see Pirates phenom Paul Skenes pitching against the Rays’ Ryan Pepiot.
