Rangers MLB.com reporter Kennedi Landry reported that Cal Quantrill (3-3) is the likely starter for Texas (54-52, .509, 1st AL West) against Tampa Bay (62-43, .590, 1st AL East, 1st AL) and starter Griffin Jax (6-7) in today’s series opener between the two teams in the Sunshine State. The Rays are coming off a day of rest while the Rangers just won 3 of 4 in a series with the Mariners to maintain first place in the American League West.

Tampa Bay is 13-10 since the start of the second half of the season which was NOT the All-Star Game break, but game 82 of 162 on June 30th of season 29.

First pitch in game 106 is set for 6:40 PM EDT at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on July 28th, 2026.
