The Rays (5-5) won for the first time in St. Petersburg since September of 2024, after playing all home games in 2025 at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. The hurricane damaged roof and field have been repaired and the home team defended the turf well, beating the Cubs 6-4 in front of a sellout crowd.

First pitch in game two of the home schedule is set for 6:40 P-M (also against the Chicago Cubs and also at Tropicana Field) on April 7th, 2026.
