Chris Opoku is both the Youth and Communications Coordinator for one of the fastest growing non-profit community based agencies in the region of peel. He manages multi-site programs, supports youth development, and coordinates social media/websites among many other roles.
Originally from Kumasi, Ghana, Chris grew up in Rexdale, eventually pursuing the recreation field. He was also a former Municipal Youth Engagement Coordinator among various roles with Canada's sixth largest municipality for the past 9 years.
Chris is a graduate of Humber College where he earned a diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies. Among many other skills, he is a counselor, a program developer, a workshop facilitator, a certified basketball/soccer coach, a certified referee, and a former soccer league convenor.
On this episode, we talk about the side of Chris most people don't know about, his experiences growing up without a male role model in his life, how he uses his past to impact his clients lives as a youth worker, and his upcoming wedding!
